At her 100th birthday celebration held at First Baptist Church of Herndon, loved ones surround Maryana Gillette James, born Nov. 1, 1919, on Grace Street in the Town of Herndon and who for the next century maintained a Herndon address while making the community a better place to live because of her contributions.
