Mike and Lindsay Rhoades, founders of Kate’s Cause, Herndon-based non-profit organization created after their young daughter, Kate died of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, present a $25,000 check partnering with the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in co-funding a grant to Dr. Christian Hurtz, Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania seeking less toxic treatments for the childhood cancer.
