Recently, Leela Ayyar conducted focus groups at FCPS STEM Camp and Tech Adventure Camp to support her manuscript for “Elara, STEM Girl.” Ayyar’s goal was to gain a multiplicity of views and experiences from the FCPS students regarding ingrained biases and challenges young girls face in the STEM fields.
