On Bike to Work Day, they cycled the 16-mile distance from Leesburg to Herndon using the W&OD Trail, a 45-mile paved rail trail that runs from Purcellville near the Blue Ridge Mountains at its western end to Shirlington near D.C. at its eastern end.
