Elma Louise Moffett Mankin, 93, of Herndon died on Friday, May 4, 2018. She was born on Aug. 26, 1924 to William Henry and Mary Elizabeth Thompson Moffett. Elma was predeceased by her husband, Wilson Douglas Mankin, her beloved daughter, Nancy Mankin Bland and three brothers.

Survivors include her daughter, Gayle Mankin Fulcher (Tom); her son-in-law, Tom Bland (Beth); six grandchildren and their spouses, Todd Fulcher (Tina), Mark Fulcher (Kerry), Robin Fulcher Jones (Jason), Kurt Bland (Meredith), Lisa Fulcher Jordan (Kevin) and Matt Bland (Beth); eight great- grandchildren, Logan and Ryan Fulcher, Zoe Jones, Hank Fulcher, Caris and Emerson Bland, and Cora and Alex Jordan; four sisters, Betty Tavenner, Mary Ellen Judd, Ginny Bernstorff and Beverly Landymore; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mankin was an active member of Herndon United Methodist Church and the Herndon Woman’s Club. She was involved in many civic organizations and was honored in 2001 as Herndon Rotary Club Citizen of the Year.
